Formula
Cost per use = Price ÷ Uses per container; Monthly cost = cost per use × uses per month
- Cost per use = product price ÷ the number of uses you get from one container.
- How long it lasts = uses per container ÷ uses per week (converted to days).
- Monthly cost = cost per use × average uses per month (weekly uses × 4.345 weeks).
- A pricier product with many uses can work out cheaper per use than a cheap one you finish quickly.
- Uses per container is an estimate — pumps, drops or pea-sized amounts all change how far a product goes.
