Air Force PT Test Score Calculator
Result
Composite Score 86.0 / 100
Rating Satisfactory (Pass)
The Air Force PT Test Score Calculator adds up the points you earned in each component of the USAF physical fitness assessment — cardio (1.5-mile run or HAMR shuttle), upper body (push-ups) and core (sit-ups or plank) — to give your composite score and pass/fail result. Passing requires at least 75.0 points overall.
Formula
Composite = Cardio points + Upper Body points + Core points (pass ≥ 75.0)
- The Air Force fitness assessment is scored out of 100 across three components: cardio (max 60), upper body/push-ups (max 20) and core/sit-ups or plank (max 20).
- Each component's points come from official age- and gender-based scoring charts for your measured performance.
- A total of 75.0 or higher is required to pass, and you must also meet the minimum point threshold in every component.
- Enter the points you earned in each category to see your composite score and overall rating.
Example Calculation
Inputs
- Cardio component points (max 60): 50
- Upper body / push-up points (max 20): 18
- Core / sit-up or plank points (max 20): 18
With 50 cardio points, 18 push-up points and 18 core points: composite = 50 + 18 + 18 = 86.0 out of 100, a satisfactory pass.
Frequently asked questions
What score do I need to pass the Air Force PT test?
You need a composite of at least 75.0 points and must meet the minimum points in each individual component.
How is the composite score made up?
Cardio is worth up to 60 points, push-ups up to 20, and core (sit-ups or plank) up to 20, for a maximum of 100.
Where do component points come from?
From the official USAF scoring charts, which convert your run time, push-up count and core score into points based on your age and gender.
What counts as an excellent score?
A composite of 90 or above is generally considered excellent.
Can I still fail with a high total?
Yes. Even with 75+ overall, failing the minimum in any single component results in an overall fail.
